El Cid. The Reconquista. Sword and scimitar. Visigoths and Moors. The Barony of Thor's Mountain is celebrating the rich history and allure of medieval and Renaissance Spain.
Come, rapier fighters, and dance steel-to-steel in the tournament of May itself. Fight a dagger tourney by torchlight. Rescue a stolen Rose. And, enjoy a Spanish surprise.
Her Royal Majesty invites all rapier fighters to come fight in Her Rapier Prize Tourney. She looks forward to seeing a great turnout and many acts of prowess and chivalry.
There will also be heavy fighting, archery, an A&S competition. Friday night offers its own delights -- dancing and games and fare for the hungry traveler.
Enjoy a scavenger hunt and one of the fabled feasts of Thor's Mountain. Come one, come all, the romance of Spain awaits!
New to the SCA and want to learn more about the vast array of activities you can participate in? Ever have down time during an event and want to learn new things? Participate in the Quest of May Tourney! In this day-long scavenger hunt, you will learn the basics of the Society, try some new activities, meet new people and hopefully have a lot of fun! Participants can complete the quest at their leisure, and those who have completed the most tasks will be recognized at court for their victory. Groups are recommended, but individuals can participate. Teens and family groups are welcomed!

MISCELLANEOUS
Our Regular Events
- Black Gryphon Collegium
- Held annually on the 2nd or 3rd weekend in February, usually at Fall Creek Falls State Park. This event
has a wide range of classes that change from year to year. For overnighters, lodging is provided in the park's
group lodge.
- May Tourney
- Held annually around the 2nd weekend in May, usually at Big Ridge State Park. This event is a tournament
event for both heavy fighters and fencers, with an emphasis on the fencing tourney. For overnighters, lodging is at
the park's Group Camp.
- Silver Hammer Tourney
- Held annually on the next-to-last weekend in October, usually at Big Ridge State Park. This event is
a tournament event for both heavy fighters and fencers, with an emphasis on the Tourney of the Silver Hammer for
the heavy fighters. This tourney is unique in that the field of battle is shaped as a hammer. For overnighters, lodging
is at the park's Group Camp.
Our Other Events
- The Holly & the Ivy
- This is the Barony's holiday party. It is held in December or January, usually sponsored by the Canton of Hochwald.
