  • Fall 2007 will be Medieval and Renaissance semester, prominently featuring programming developed by the Marco Institute for Medieval and Renaissance Studies, UT’s newest research institute. As in the past, the semester theme will be extended to numerous areas of study and opened to include not only faculty and students with special courses, seminars, and academic symposia; it will also welcome the community at large to outstanding programs in music and theatre, a special exhibit at the McClung Museum, and a Medieval and Renaissance festival, all of which are open to the public. http://web.utk.edu/~marco/
  • 8/30/2007 - FP at Tyson on Boomsday will be all but impossible. Even that far away from
the actual site of the activities all the parking will be taken up and then
some. It is comparable to a football Saturday.

I am all for practice still happening, but I want to move it to another
location such as Victor Ashe. Even at this late date, moving it will be
better than trying to squeeze in at Tyson or cancelling it altogether.

=> Fighter Practice for this Sunday the 2nd ONLY will be at Victor Ashe Park
at our old location on the backside of the soccer fields. I will set up a
SCA sign at the entrance directing traffic. Here is a map & directions to
    the park:

  • 8/19/2007 - Congratulations to Mistress Solvieg on her elevation to the Order of the Laurel. Hip-Hip Hooray!
  • 6/6/2007 - Notes from Biz Meet:  Reeve will change from Annchen to Marianna as soon as signature cards are finished processing.  Aleksei will take over as Demo Coordinator for Jerusha depending on how interviews go. Please let him know if you are interested in the position. If there are Farspeaker changes please send them to Fionn. We have moved the Farspeaker list under the auspice of the Constable's office since they both need access to the same information it is easier to keep it in one database.  Eberhart has the awards list from May Tourney and will be posting those in the Whetstone.  We turned in 16 scrolls to their Majesties at Kingdom Arts and Sciences, a huge thank you to Bess for painting lots of scrolls.  Post Mortem for May Tourney went well we didn't loose money.  The Constable Office was handed from Halla to Tiberius at May Tourney. Halla will remain as Tiberius' deputy. Silver Hammer is on track.  Armor nights are by request please contact Fionn.
  • We are moving Fighter Practice back to Tyson Park.

    Directions:
To get to the southern entrance of the park, go west on Cumberland Avenue past University of Tennessee's campus; after going under the overpass the park entrance will be on the right.
Bring water, it will be rather warm and sunny.
